He has just released the list of winners of the Europa Nostra Awards 2008.

Europa Nostra Awards are granted from 2002 to the initiatives to better promote the recovery, conservation, research ... of the European cultural heritage in its various aspects ranging from the restoration of buildings and their adaptation to new uses, to urban areas and rural landscape rehabilitation, archaeological site preservation, and care for art collections.

The promoters of these awards are the European Commission and Europa Nostra (European Federation for Cultural Heritage).

There are four categories:

• Conservation.
• Research.
• Dedication of persons or organizations.
• Education, Training and Awareness.

This year's winners are available on the website of Europa Nostra or Castilian on the other page of the portal of the European Union.

Among the winners we have the award in the category of research for the Spanish Association of Friends of the Castles by the Inventory of fortified military architecture in Spain and four medals to Spanish projects:

• Preserving the medieval bridge over the Trout River.
• The Restoration of the choir of the church of San Nicolás de Bari in Madrigal de las Altas Torres.
• The restoration of the building and the collections of the Museum of Madrid Cerralbo.
• The International Heritage Photographic Experience.
